Licensing in WarehouseOS is by device. Each iPad on the warehouse floor must be registered in WOS Manager against an available license. A device is identified as a unique combination of a Device Name and an internally generated Device Id. The same Device Name can't be used across multiple physical devices at the same time.

There are multiple ways to register a new device but neither requires that the device be fully configured before allowing the iPad to connect and automatically register the device.

  • Quick Setup
  • WOS Operations Login

Note: Devices will automatically register with WOS Manager, but the User that logs in for the first time must be created in WOS Manager prior to logging into the device.

As devices register with WOS Manager, it will report the last user to log into the device, the WOS Operations App version, the iOS Version, and device model.

Clear Device Ids

When a Device is registered with WOS Manager, a Device Id is generated to tie the Name to a specific iPad hardware. A Device Name must be unique and can only be tied to a single iPad hardware. If an iPad is being replaced or the Device Name needs to be moved to another iPad, the Device Id can be cleared and allow that Device Name to be re-registered with a new iPad hardware.

After clearing a Device Id the user doesn't necessarily have to log back in to register the device. If a user is active on a Device when the Device Id is cleared, the next action on the Device will send up the Device Id and register that device.

  1. Go to Maint-> Devices
  2. Click "Clear All Device Ids" to clear all of the Ids for all Devices
